What's a task?
Every website has a goal. Usually, that goal is very specific. For example, if you have an eCommerce site, your goal will usually be to sell as many products as you can. So the task you set your usability expert to complete should be "Make a purchase on our store" or even something more specific such as "Purchase an eBook."
If your site is content-driven and you have a newsletter you want people to subscribe to, then your task could be "Register to our newsletter."
Whatever the subject of your site, there will always be a few tasks you want your users to complete. Here are just some of the most common:
- Decide what the site is about.
- Describe our products/services.
- Buy from our store.
- Subscribe to our newsletter.
- Contact us.
- Find our phone number.
- Post a question on the forum.
- Download a PDF.
- Make a donation.
- Send feedback.
Whatever your task is, we will tell you if it was easy to accomplish and what you can do to make it better and increase your conversion rate!

"I will never release a major section of my site without running it through Merav's usability testing. She was able to point out many problems that would've caused hassles for my site visitors, and ultimatley less sales for my site. I was continually surprised at how my position as the site owner put me in the position to not be able to see the site as my visitors would. Thank you Merav!"
